what size bike helmet do i need?
i'm a young female adult, don't have an enormous head! what size would be best? (have to do by internet as no stores within easy reach to try on)

The helmets come in sizes of small, medium, and large. Each company seems to vary a little in dimensions and shape. They measure in circumference of your head in either inches or cm. A tape measure can help you there. When you go into the on line purchase system it will ask you to enter a size.
If there is no sizing info in the add you can go to the manufactures web site to get fitting information.
I STRONGLY CAUTION you not to buy with out first trying the helmet on for fit! Each manufacturer seems to have a preferred shape. For my shaped head a Giro feels great... several of the other manufacturers shapes are very uncomfortable. One companies actually hurts to wear. So before you buy online, just make sure it is a shape that is comfortable for your head. The only thing I can think of that would be worse than a bad fitting helmet might be a bad fitting, tight, pair of cycle shorts!
