Black & blue nipples? Breastfeeding ?
I have been breastfeeding for 5 months. I use nipple shields because the baby had a hard time latching on. Every once in awhile I get a little pain in the nipple and it lasts a couple days every time the baby feeds on that side. Well last nite while the baby fed on one side i got a sharp pain. he does not have teeth yet but it felt like he bit me. This morning i notice 2 small black and blue marks on the tip of that nipple they look like someone took a pen and made 2 small marks. Is this normal and is there anything i can put on the nipples to ease the pain??
i had the same problem with my son because when i gave birth the nurse told me that i would have to use a nipple shield because my nipples was flat (which the lactation specialist said was not true) but after that my son wouldn't nurse without one so i kept getting sharp pains in my nipple and bruises it was a infection and it would not go away as long as i was using the shield so i had to stop breastfeeding when my son was 4 months i think that you should talk to your doctor it maybe a infection or it could be nothing
