Bike Helmet Protection
If you saw someone on a road bike wearing a Giros Indicator, would it be "out of place"?
I bought a bike and all, but I didn't know road specific helmets were so expensive? I mean, there are all these other cycling helmets that are lower in price and I was wondering if they would offer me the same protection at a lower price... $40 Indicator v. $115 Saros

They all pass the same safety standards. What you get for the higher price tag is lighter weight, more exotic materials, better air flow / cooler, more air vents, and better retention systems. Be sure to try on helmets from different companies. Each one makes one that fits a different shaped head, There are some helmets that I just can't wear... they hurt.
Specialized and Giro both make an excellent mid priced helmet.
