The gas price, is going up
Volatile, it irritates
The people, they all agree
To the shock, of new dollar signs
People travel, without tires
Tripping sideways, on sidewalk
Walking fast, to compensate
For the slow speed, without gas
Bicycle bells, for the car honks
Sturdy helmet, replacing seat belt
The gas price, has gone beyond us
Now we enter, a world of pedestrian

Once again we enter, the era of pedestrians
I love the content. It gets to the point and lets the reader get a few mental images. You've got sound, safety & causes covered.
One thing I didn't care for were the commas in the middle of each line. In the middle two lines of the first stanza, they're well-placed. They seem unnecessary in most of the other lines. Aside from that, it's a great poem & a vivid social comment!
